Abstract

A digital promotion processing system may include shopper devices each associated with a given shopper. The digital promotion processing system may also include a digital promotion processing server configured to cooperate with each of the shopper devices to operate a retailer loyalty application on corresponding ones of the shopper devices. The digital promotion processing server may also be configured to obtain an outcome of a contested event, determine a geographic location associated with the contested event, and determine ones of the shoppers within a threshold distance from the geographic location based upon respective geographic locations of the shopper devices. The digital promotion processing server may also be configured to generate and communicate a digital promotion to the ones of the shoppers and accessible via the retailer loyalty application based upon the outcome of the contested event matching a desired event outcome.
