Abstract
Provided is a new class of phosphorescent emitters. The inventive emitters feature a benzimidazole phenoxide ligand, which is connected via 'top linkers' to form novel tetradentate ligands. These phosphorescent emitters are Pt tetradentate complexes when used in OLEDs as emitters improves device external quantum efficiency (EQE) and operational lifetimes.
