Abstract
A device may perform local illumination compensation. The device may determine whether local illumination compensation is to be performed for a luma component of a video block. The device may determine a value of a chroma local illumination compensation variable based on local illumination compensation being performed for a luma component of a video block and one or more thresholds. The chroma local illumination compensation variable may indicate whether local illumination compensation is to be performed for a chroma component of the video block.
