Abstract

A flexible display device includes: a display panel including a folding area and a non-folding area; and a back plate which includes a base layer which supports the display panel, below the display panel and includes a plurality of grooves on a bottom surface corresponding to the folding area and a filler which is filled in at least a part of the plurality of grooves, and the filler includes a metal fiber. According to the exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, components such as a plate top, a plate bottom, and a damping layer are not included, but a mechanical property such as impact resistance is satisfied and the thickness of the display device is minimized so that the folding characteristic and the reliability are significantly improved. Therefore, a flexible display device having a larger curvature than that of the related art may be easily implemented.
