Abstract
To provide contextual navigation for errors and warnings, first a selection is obtained, via a user interface, of a node within a hierarchy of nodes for a report. Then error information and a preview of report information corresponding to the selection are obtained. The preview includes a plurality of fields and values. The error information includes error indications for erroneous values in the portion of the report. The preview of the report information is presented in the user interface and error indications are included in the preview. If a selection of a particular error indication is obtained then the particular node containing that erroneous value is navigated to and the report information corresponding to the particular node is retrieved. Then the report information is presented in the user interface along with an identifier of the particular erroneous value.
