Abstract
Method and arrangements for inspection of a drinking straw () involving use of the drinking straw () as a light guide for inspection of a sidewall () of the drinking straw () based on light leakage of guided light out from the drinking straw () via the sidewall (), such a through a damage () in the sidewall (). It is illuminated (), by means of one or more light sources (), a first portion () of the drinking straw () so that at least some of the light () on the first portion () is transmitted through a sidewall () of the drinking straw () into the drinking straw (), and is guided therein. It is provided () one or more digital images () imaging another, second, portion () of the drinking straw () during said illumination. A light pattern captured by said one or more digital images () is analysed (), corresponding to light escape of the internally reflected light out from the second portion () of the drinking straw () via a sidewall () of the drinking straw (). The damage () may be detected as a local spot () of image data discrepancy.
