Abstract

A mass spectrometry method using a mass spectrometerincluding a first moving mechanismconfigured to move a sample stagein a first direction in a plane parallel to the sample stageand a second moving mechanismconfigured to move the first moving mechanismin a second direction different from the first direction in a plane parallel to the sample stage. The mass spectrometry method causes an irradiation point of excitation beam to be intermittently moved between a plurality of measurement points two-dimensionally arranged on a sample placed on the sample stagewith the first direction as a main movement direction (Step), and performs mass spectrometry at each of a plurality of the measurement points (Step).
