Abstract
A portal application on a user device can display a catalog of selectable applications. An agent on the user device can obtain a use-policy for a selected application, the use policy can be specific to a user selecting the application and received from a portal server. A virtual disk can be attached to the user device over a network based on the use policy, and the virtual disk can correspond to the selected application. The selected application can be launched from the virtual disk while the virtual disk remains attached to the user device over the network.
