Abstract
A Life-cycle Component Management (LCM) system associated with Kubernetes can employ a universal operator to aid in the management of any software system, no matter the size or complexity. Specifically, the LCM system includes a universal operator, which eliminates the need for a human software developer to implement a set of workflows. The universal operator dynamically computes and runs the disclosed workflow set, based upon the description of the current state of the system (i.e., the 'begin state') and the new desired state of the system (i.e., the “end state”). Thereby, this universal model enables LCM for large Kubernetes software systems, which require excessive workflow sets due to the intrinsic complexity of large software systems and the plurality of vendors that contribute to such systems.
