A compound of Formula I, or Formula II, is provided. In Formulae I and II, M is Pt or Pd; each R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, and Ris hydrogen or one of the General Substituents; Ris one of the General Substituents; at least one of R, R, and Ris not hydrogen; any two of R, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, and Rmay be joined or fused together to form a ring; and R, R, and Rtogether comprise at least one heterocyclic group or at least two carbocyclic groups; with the proviso that at least one of Rand Rcomprises a cyclic group when Ris one of five specific moieties.
