Abstract

A process and a system automatically determine a floor plan of a spatial area (Et). A mobile sensor arrangement includes a camera and a motion sensor and is moved through the spatial area (Et). The camera generates an image sequence. The motion sensor generates a motion signal. Using the motion signal, a camera trajectory (Tr) is determined that describes the actual motion path of the camera through the spatial area (Et). Those image segments in the images are determined that each show at least one person. Key points are detected in the remaining image segments. Contiguous horizontal surface segments (Zus., Zus., . . . ) are determined in the images. Using the horizontal surface segments (Zus., Zus., . . . ), contiguous floor segments (R., R.) are determined. The floor plan is determined using the camera trajectory and the contiguous floor segments.
