Abstract
Methods and apparatus provide for a head-mounted display to be worn by a user located within a physical environment and for engaging in an interactive experience; an entertainment device including a processing section that executes an interactive application that is manipulated in part through receiving inputs from the user; a communication partner operating to relay video and audio signals outputted from the entertainment device to the head-mounted display; continuously acquiring information of the environment at a predetermined frame rate; at least one camera on the head-mounted display, which captures images of the physical environment, where the communication partner is connected to the entertainment device with wired communication, and the communication partner is connected to the head-mounted display with wireless communication.
