Abstract

A separator for an electrochemical device, and an electrochemical device including the same are disclosed. The separator according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure is a separator for an electrochemical device. The separator includes a porous polymer substrate and one porous coating layer on at least one surface of the porous polymer substrate. The porous coating layer includes inorganic hydroxide particles, cellulose nanoparticles, and an aqueous binder polymer. The amount of the cellulose nanofibers is 25% by weight or more and 70% by weight or less based on the total weight of the porous coating layer.
