Abstract
The disclosure relates to the field of medical devices, and more specifically to techniques for remotely controlling medical devices. According to a first aspect, the disclosure relates to a method of operating a medical device to enable a remote system to remotely control the medical device, wherein the medical device comprises one or more actuatorsarranged to control a medical procedure. The medical deviceis controlled by a software system including one or more medical processes involved in the operation of the medical device during the medical procedure and a remote-control process. The method comprises handing over Sownership of control of the one or more actuatorsfrom the one or more medical processes to the remote-control process, upon at least one first pre-determined criteria being fulfilled S, and sending S, by the remote-control process, in response to ownership of control of the one or more actuators being handed over S, an activate confirmation, to the remote system and/or to a user interface of the medical device. The activate confirmation is indicating that remote-control of the one or more actuators is active.
