Abstract
A task manager assigns configurations to task nodes, where the task nodes perform tasks in accordance with the configurations assigned to them. The task manager creates a record comprising a new configuration assigned to a task node, along with an identifier of that task node. The task manager adds these created records to a shared task configuration data structure. A task node accesses the shared task configuration data structure to look for new records with its identifier. The task node obtains a new record from the shared task configuration data structure, and analyzes the obtained new record to determine its assigned new configuration. The task node configures itself in accordance with the new configuration, without restarting the individual task node.
