Abstract
A system and method for controlling a vehicle to perform safety action, the system comprises: a lateral blind zone detection module () configured to detect a lateral blind zone () of a first vehicle () caused by a second vehicle () in the lateral direction of the first vehicle (); a movement characteristic monitor module () configured to monitor movement characteristic of the second vehicle () in response to the lateral blind zone () detected; and a safety action module () configured to control the first vehicle () to perform at least one safety action based on the monitored movement characteristics of the second vehicle (). The system and method can avoid collision and improve safety.
