Abstract

A needle-tract assistants () for establishing a needle tract of a predetermined length, including a needle thruster () and a needle-in-catheter assembly () removably loaded in the needle thruster (). The needle thruster () can include a cradle (), a carriage() within the cradle (), and a plunger () coupled to the carriages (). The carriages () can be configured to move between a proximal-end portion and a distal-end portion of the cradle(). The plungers () can be configured to move the carriages () within the cradle(). The plungers () can also be configured to allow a user to set the predetermined length of the needle tract before establishing the needle tract. The needle-in-catheter assembly () can include a hub (), a catheter tube () extending from a distal-end portion of the hub (), and a needle () disposed within the catheter tube (). Also described are components of the needle-tract assistants () and methods of the needle-tract assistants () or the components thereof.
