Abstract

An electronic document associated with users of a collaborative document platform is identified. The electronic document is associated with a data structure including entries that each correspond to an approval request for a respective user to approve at least a portion of content of the electronic document. At least a portion of the data structure is embedded within the content of the electronic document for presentation to a first user. A first user updating a first entry of at least a portion of the data structure is detected. The update to the first entry corresponds to a first approval request for a second user to approve one or more portions of the content of the electronic document. The data structure is updated to include data of the first entry in accordance with the update to the first entry by the first user.
