Abstract
An optical element includes a substrate and an antireflection film. The antireflection film comprises a first film formed on the substrate and a second film formed on the first film. The second film comprises a first layer, a second layer, and a third layer arranged consecutively in order from a side closer to the first film. The first layer includes magnesium fluoride. The second layer includes silicon oxide and aluminum oxide. The third layer includes a fluorine-containing organic compound.
