Abstract
When it is diagnosed that a braking control devicefunctions normally, a command unittransmits a braking force command value to drive units, and a command unittransmits the braking force command value to drive units. Then, the drive unitsdrives braking mechanismsaccording to the command value transmitted by the command unit, and the drive unitsdrives braking mechanismsaccording to the command value transmitted by the command unit. Meanwhile, when it is diagnosed that the braking control devicedoes not function normally, at least one of the command unitsexecutes backup control for compensating for a shortage of a braking force of a vehiclefor a braking request, which is caused by the braking control devicenot functioning normally.
