Abstract
An example method of video processing includes determining, for a conversion between a current block of a video and a bitstream representation of the video, whether to enable usage of a chroma quantization parameter (QP) offset for the current block according to a syntax element at a level of a video unit. The video unit includes the current block and a second block of the video. The method also includes performing the conversion based on the determining.
