Abstract
A method for hydrogen (H) generation includes reacting sodium borohydride (NaBH) with water in the presence of a graphite-phase carbon nitride copper oxide and magnesium aluminum oxide (g-CN@CuO/MgAlO) nanocomposite to hydrolyze the sodium borohydride and generate hydrogen. The g-CN@CuO/MgAlOnanocomposite comprises a graphite-phase carbon nitride (g-CN) in an amount of 5 to 15 percent by weight (wt. %), copper oxide in an amount of 3 to 7 wt. %, and magnesium aluminum oxide (MgAlO) in an amount of 80 to 90 wt. % based on a total weight of the g-CN@CuO/MgAlOnanocomposite.
