Abstract

An auxiliary information transmission method, a terminal device, and a network device. The method includes: transmitting auxiliary information by using a target message, where the target message includes an MSG-3 message or an MSG-A message, and the auxiliary information includes at least one of the following content: a power compensation value expected by the terminal device, a bandwidth capability, a modulation scheme supported by the terminal device, a maximum MIMO layer supported by the terminal device, a quantity of receive antennas of the terminal device, an RRM measurement report, a target serving cell, an expected PDCCH aggregation level, expected times of repetition transmission, and a transmit power capability.
