Abstract

A transmission apparatus includes a plurality of transmission units each including a plurality of oscillation elements configured to oscillate terahertz waves and connection lines configured to connect the plurality of oscillation elements, and an optical unit disposed on the plurality of transmission units and including a plurality of optical elements, wherein each of the plurality of transmission units has a surface provided close to the optical unit and including an oscillation region where the plurality of oscillation elements is arranged, and wherein a distance between the surface and the optical unit is 2D/λ, or larger, where λ denotes a wavelength of the terahertz waves and D denotes a length of the oscillation region.
