Abstract

An exemplary auto-configurable simulation system includes a control module configured to simulate a first type of surgical instrument manipulating system included in a plurality of types of surgical instrument manipulating systems and a computing device communicatively connected to the control module. The computing device includes a processor configured to execute instructions to communicatively connect the control module to a user control console of a computer-assisted surgical system, determine, after communicatively connecting the control module to the user control console, that the user control console is configured to facilitate control of a second type of surgical instrument manipulating system, store data indicating that the user control console is configured to facilitate control of the second type of surgical instrument manipulating system, and reprogram the control module such that the control module is configured to simulate the second type of surgical instrument manipulating system.
