Abstract
A light receiving device () includes a first circuit substrate () and a second circuit substrate (). An avalanche photodiode (APD) () and a protection element () that protects the APD () are disposed on the first circuit substrate (). The second circuit substrate () is stacked on the first circuit substrate (), and a signal processing circuit that processes a signal output from the APD () is disposed on the second circuit substrate ().
