Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a rotor assemblyfor a turbomolecular pump. The rotor assemblycomprises a rotor shaft, a plurality of rotor bladesextending from the rotor shaft, and a balancing memberfitted within the rotor shaftwith an interference fit. The rotor shaftextends along a longitudinal axisabout which the rotor assemblyis configured to rotate. The interference fit is such that the balancing memberis retained in compression by the rotor assembly. The present disclosure also relates to a turbomolecular pumpincluding the rotor assemblyand a method of assembling a rotor assemblyfor the same.
