Abstract
A liquid crystal apparatus includes a first electrode, a liquid crystal layer, a second electrode facing the first electrode via the liquid crystal layer, a first node electrically coupled to the first electrode, a first switch having one end coupled to the first node, a second node electrically coupled to the other end of the first switch, and a measurement circuit that applies a potential to each of the second node and the second electrode, and the measurement circuit brings the first switch into a conduction state and applies a potential to the second node and the second electrode so that a potential difference between the first electrode and the second electrode becomes a predetermined potential difference in a third period, and brings the first switch into a non-conduction state and applies a feedback potential that is a potential based on a potential of the first node to the second node in a fourth period after the third period.
