Abstract
In an ultrasound diagnostic apparatus and a control method of the ultrasound diagnostic apparatus of the present invention, a blood vessel extraction unit extracts a short-axis image of a blood vessel from an ultrasound image, an emphasis display unit displays in an emphasized manner the short-axis image of the blood vessel in the ultrasound image displayed on a monitor, and a movement amount detection unit detects a movement amount of the ultrasound image between adjacent frames on the basis of the ultrasound image. In a case where the movement amount is equal to or greater than a first threshold value after the emphasis display of the short-axis image of the blood vessel by the emphasis display unit is started, the apparatus control unit stops the emphasis display of the short-axis image of the blood vessel by the emphasis display unit. As a result, the short-axis image of the blood vessel included in the ultrasound image can be displayed in an emphasized manner without causing a user to feel discomfort even in a case where the entire ultrasound image is moved.
