Abstract

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, modifying one or more signals in a downlink (DL) transmit path of a base station, resulting in one or more modified signals, causing one or more radio frequency (RF) signals corresponding to the one or more modified signals to be transmitted by the base station, and responsive to transmission of the one or more RF signals, monitoring uplink (UL) signals received by the base station to detect interference that originates from one or more passive intermodulation (PIM) sources. Other embodiments are disclosed.
