Abstract

A negative electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery which includes first negative electrode active material particles including artificial graphite particles and a carbon coating layer formed on the artificial graphite particle; and second negative electrode active material particles including natural graphite particles, wherein the first negative electrode active material particles have a larger average particle diameter (D) than an average particle diameter (D) of the second negative electrode active material particles, and a weight ratio of the first negative electrode active material particles and the second negative electrode active material particles is in a range of 70:30 to 95:5.
