Abstract
A downhole seal is proposed which has a COswellable elastomer which swells when in contact with CO. The downhole seal can be set by installing a downhole seal comprising a COswellable elastomer in a downhole location within a borehole, and exposing the downhole seal to contact with COafter installing, whereby the COcauses the downhole seal to swell.
