Abstract
A roadside unitthat controls a traffic safety apparatus provided at a railroad crossingat which a general roadon which a vehicletravels and a railroad trackon which a railroad vehiclegiven priority over the vehicletravels intersect receives a first message from the railroad vehicle. The first message includes an information element indicating a railroad vehicle as a type of a transmission source vehicle, and an information element indicating at least one of a position of the railroad vehicleor speed of the railroad vehicle. In the roadside unit, a communicator transmits a second message to the vehicle.
