This motor control deviceis provided with a first abnormality detection unitthat detects an abnormality in a separate detectoras the detector or a feedback cablethereof, a second abnormality detection unitthat detects an abnormality in an encoderof a motor as the detector or a feedback cablethereof, and a switching unitthat switches from full-closed control to semi-closed control, or to control using only the separate detector. When either of the first abnormality detection unitor the second abnormality detection unithas detected an abnormality, the switching unitswitches to control using only any detector in which an abnormality has not occurred.
