Abstract

In one embodiment, a system for powering a device, among other devices, includes a light device, a coaxial cable, and an adapter. The light device includes: a housing; a light sub-assembly situated within the housing, the light sub-assembly including at least one light-emitting diode (LED); a coaxial cable connector mounted to the housing; and a first circuitry disposed within the housing, the first circuitry being capable of receiving DC power from the coaxial cable connector and providing DC power to the light sub-assembly. The coaxial cable is coupled to the coaxial cable connector of the light device at a first end of the coaxial cable. The adapter is coupled to a second end of the coaxial cable opposite the first end. The adapter includes a second circuitry capable of converting AC power received from a power source to DC power output to the coaxial cable to power the light device.
