Abstract
An intermittent hydrophilic urinary catheter () with a hydrophilic coating () and comprising a plurality of drainage openings () is provided. The outer surface () of the tubular portion () forms a projection () encircling the openings in the outer surface and extending above the hydrophilic surface () when the hydrophilic material is in the non-swelled condition.
