An electroacoustic transducer arrayis described. The electroacoustic transducer arraycomprises a first electroacoustic transducerA comprising a first active elementA and a second electroacoustic transducerB comprising a second active elementB. The electroacoustic transducer arraycomprises an acoustic coupling layerarranged to acoustically couple, in use, the first active elementA and the second active elementB to a transmission medium. The electroacoustic transducer arraycomprises a first cavityA arranged between the first active elementA and the acoustic coupling layerto receive a first fluid; and/or a second cavityB arranged between the second active elementB and the acoustic coupling layerto receive a second fluid. In this way, acoustic coupling of the electroacoustic transducer arrayand the transmission medium is improved.
