Abstract

An authentication system () is provided with: a first imaging apparatus () that obtains a first image () used for an authentication by capturing an image of a first imaging range; a second imaging apparatus () that obtains a second image () by capturing an image of a second imaging range that is wider than the first imaging range; and a control apparatus () that selects a target person (Ta) for the authentication on the basis of a target area (TA) in the second image that includes a predetermined portion (TP) of a person (T) and a reference area (RA) in the second image that corresponds to the first imaging range.
