Abstract
A computer-implemented method for automatically detecting cross-connected cells in communication network. The method includes obtaining first cell data of source cell within communication network; determining effective area of source cell using first cell data; classifying each neighbouring cell of source cell into one of: a first group, a second group, based on location of neighbouring cell; calculating share of handover events from source cell to neighbouring cells in first group using first cell data; and when share of handover events from source cell to neighbouring cells in first group lies below first threshold, filtering out neighbouring cell(s) from amongst second group with which handover events of source cell lies above second threshold and determining source cell to be cross-connected cell when: direction of filtered cell(s) is opposite to direction of the source cell; and/or effective area of filtered cell(s) does not overlap with effective area of source cell.
