Abstract
A delimitation unit () for a pipe section (), in particular a pipe section () of a pipeline (), comprises at least one protective component (), a control unit () for controlling the protective component (), and a communication unit () for communicating with a remote monitoring station (). The communication unit () is arranged to receive at least one control command from the monitoring station (). The control unit () is arranged to operate the protective components () in different operating modes to maintain the voltage of the pipe section () below at least one limit value, and to change the operating modes due to the control command received by the communication unit (). Furthermore, a pipeline system () and a method of operating a pipeline system () are shown.
