Abstract
An information processing apparatus is provided. The apparatus generates a name using characters recognized in image data, assign the name to the image data, and store the image data; makes a request for approval by a user regarding the name, transmit the image data to an external apparatus after the image data is approved by the user, and deletes the image data; in a case where the image data has exceeded a predetermined storage period without the name being approved by the user, in a case where the name satisfies a predetermined condition, transmits the image data to the external apparatus before deleting the image data; and deletes the image data that has exceeded the predetermined storage period without the name being approved by the user.
