Abstract

Microarray applicator () including a microarray carrier (), which is retained within a housing () by virtue of microarray carrier () being engaged withholder (). Microarray patch () and flexible backing () are positioned such that the central portion () has microneedles () protrude in the direction opposite from the bottom () of plunger (). Plunger () is in a first position, having first notch () engaged with ridge (). After activation, wherein plunger () is in a second position such that second notch () is engaged with ridge (). Here, bottom () of plunger () extends below first major surface () of housing () and has ejected microarray patch ().
