Abstract
A luminaire driver system comprising: a driver () having a driver housing () with output connections () for connection to at least one light source (); wherein the driver comprises a driver circuitry () arranged in said driver housing, said driver circuitry being configured to perform a driving functionality of the at least one light source (); wherein said driver housing is provided with a receiving means () for receiving a pluggable surge protection module (); the surge protection module () comprising surge protection circuitry (), wherein the surge protection module and/or the receiving means are configured such that the surge protection circuitry is connectable to a power supply and such that the surge protection circuitry is electrically connected to the driver circuitry, when the surge protection module is received in the receiving means.
