Abstract
A thoracic catheter for a comparatively simple and reliable control and relief of pain associated with thoracatomy. The thoracic catheter () has a distal end (), a proximal end () and an intercostal region () in between. The thoracic catheter () is covered on its outer surface () in the intercostal region () with a capillary active layer (), which is fluidically connectable to a distal source () of an anesthetic agent, and which, when arranged in the body of a patient, is capable of releasing the anesthetic agent into the intercostal space ().
