Abstract

Embodiments disclosed herein include methods and apparatuses that enable the UE to transmit message 3 in an NTN network. A gNB can include, a time duration indicating the time at which the UE should transmit message 3. The network can ensure that the UE has adequate time to apply the timing advance, assemble and transmit message 3. The UE can compute time of UL grant application based on a timing advance. The time of application of the UL grant can be determined by the UE and by the gNB according to a specified rule.
