Abstract

The invention relates to a hydraulic camshaft adjuster () having a stator (), a rotor () rotatable relative to the stator () within a limited angular range, and a hydraulic supply () having two working channels () and a shifting valve (), wherein the two working channels () for adjusting the rotor () relative to the stator () in two opposite directions of action can be connected to a pump () for pressurisation or to a reservoir () for pressure relief, depending on the shifting position () of the shifting valve (), wherein the hydraulic supply () has a return pump () that can be actuated by displacing the shifting valve () between its shifting positions () and by the actuation of which one of the two work-ing channels () can be pressurised for returning the rotor () into a predetermined position.
