Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a communication device, a communication method, and a program that make it possible to provide higher communication quality. A retransmission detection unit acquires a message count included in a header of a packet transmitted from a communication device on a transmission side via a data channel, and detects the message count of the packet that is a candidate for which retransmission is requested as a retransmission candidate message count, and a retransmission request unit generates retransmission request data for requesting retransmission of the packet held to be enabled to be transmitted by the communication device on the transmission side among a plurality of the packets with the retransmission candidate message count. The present technology can be applied to, for example, a communication system mounted on a vehicle.
