Abstract

An additive for electrolytes includes a compound represented by Formula 1. The silyl moieties at both ends of the compound may coordinate water to suppress or reduce hydrolysis of LiPF, and may also form a SEI film capable of improving battery performance. Additional embodiments of the present disclosure provide an electrolyte including the additive; and a lithium secondary battery including the electrolyte.
