Abstract
A method for MCCH acquisition in a 5G wireless network () by a UE () includes: receiving, by the UE, a MCCH change notification from the gNodeB over a PDCCH. Further, the method includes detecting whether at least one of the UE is interested to receive a new MBS and the UE is already receiving an MBS. Further, the method includes determining the start of the new MBS session for the new MBS by reading the first bit of the MCCH change notification in response to detecting that the UE is interested to receive the new MBS, or determining the modification to the MBS session configuration of the ongoing MBS session by reading the second bit of the MCCH change notification in response to detecting that the UE is already receiving the MBS.
