Abstract

The present disclosure relates to an image processing device and an image processing method that make it possible to avoid an increase in memory size. An adaptive color conversion unit performs adaptive color conversion processing of adaptively performing conversion of a color space of an image to be encoded, on a residual signal of the image, and an orthogonal transform unit performs orthogonal transform processing for each of orthogonal transform blocks that are units of processing, on a residual signal of the image or on a residual signal of the image subjected to the adaptive color conversion processing. Then, control related to application of the adaptive color conversion processing is performed by a controller. The present technology can be applied to, for example, an image encoding device and an image decoding device that support ACT processing.
